AUSTRALIAN MOTORS STATEMENT RELATING TO THE OBTAINING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE GUIDELINES OF THE PRIVACY ACT 1988.

Australian Motors may collect personal information for the purpose of selling a motor vehicle to you and providing after-sales service. We may disclose your personal information to the vehicle’s manufacturer for purposes that include supplying goods or services that you request, providing other services (eg Warranty and Roadside Assistance programs), and contacting you for promotional, safety, or market research purposes. In turn, the vehicle manufacturer may disclose your personal information to certain other organisations, such as marketing and research companies and other contractors for purposes similar to those outlined above.

Further, Australian Motors may also disclose your personal information to any other organisation that would require that information in carrying out its role of assisting Australian Motors to supply you with a motor vehicle or any associated services. Examples include organisations offering extended warranties, insurance or finance. Where required, you may be asked to sign a Privacy Disclosure Statement before your personal information is disclosed to those organisations.

Collection of your personal information is essential for Australian Motors to service both your relationship with us and our business operations. Subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 you may request access to your information at any time during usual business hours by contacting Australian Motors. If you are able to establish that your personal information held by us is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we must take reasonable steps to ensure that the information is updated accordingly.
